Which One Do You Feed?
This post came a day late because of COVID-19.
I was frantically trying to get an important work announcement message out. The day was filled with answering text messages and writing social communication messages. My mental energy was spent by the end of the day but I felt good. I felt accomplished.
I have learned to embrace the idea of being part of the solution instead of the problem. COVID-19 has been creating a lot of overwhelming fear and negativity. I decided to choose and practise kindness and patience during this critical period. It is challenging (but rewarding) because emotions tends to trump logic. We want to be protective of our loved ones and yet sometimes our decisions may cloud our judgements.
So today I decided to take a break from the non-stop news and social media updates frenzy. I went into the nature for some peace and quiet. Epiphanies came through as I watched the tides came in.
Chaos and calmness both live within us, separated by a thin layer of barrier. When there is chaos, there will a lot of movement, dirt, negativity, fear, uncertainty and 'garbage'. On the other hand, when we are calm, we become still. We can see clearly. We feel peaceful and serenity within. At some point, these two states will meet. What and who we will be depends on the more dominant state. It reminded me of the wolf story. The one we feed is the one that will thrive.
