The Biggest Lesson of The Year

Some lessons come to us in the most unusual and unsuspecting 'process' and I got to learn one of the most valuable lessons right before the year ends.

While I was 'tabulating' the year of what had happened (a.k.a 'achievements') I felt that I haven't achieved anything of true significance (at least not in my head). Ironically (and thankfully) deep down my inner voice was disagreeing with me. I had learned a lot about people this year, especially of myself (yes we have to be our best friend!).

For the last two years I have taken a shift in my role from just being a yoga teacher to running a yoga shala with my long term teaching partner. It was (and still is) a rather steep learning curve and a very rewarding one too (this will be another post!).

There were so many instances whereby I had to get out of my comfort zone and did things that I wouldn't have 'normally' done. And interestingly these encounters were also where all the valuable gems that were presented to me.

To sum it all up - always ask for what you want. You may not always get it but you will be pleasantly surprised with the answers. I did and I am going to keep asking for what I want.
